Come learn the basic tenets of mindfulness-based interventions and other behavioral therapies, in this 10-part psycho-educational program especially designed for care-partners of persons age 65 and older.
Iris R. Cohen, MSW is a social worker and a Community Outreach Coordinator for the Comprehensive Program for Brain Health at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She received her B.A. from the University of Massachusetts and her MSW with emphasis on aging populations from Florida Atlantic University, serving as a Provost Fellow. Iris has expertise in mindfulness-based approaches and individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy. As a former teacher Iris has expertise in early childhood education and development. She co-coordinates a study examining improvements in home health delivery to individuals with dementia and their family caregivers, and participates in research projects for healthy brain aging, Alzheimer’s disease, and Lewy Body dementia. Iris is working towards earning her LCSW licensure. She enjoys community engagement and is an avid football fan. Iris lives in Boca Raton, Florida with her husband Adam and her dog Jessie.
