Anti-Bullying Program Takes Aim At Retirement Living

An anti-bullying program developed for elementary school-aged children is being retooled for a whole new audience: seniors in retirement and assisted living facilities.

Alyse November — the licensed clinical social worker behind the original “Different Like Me” program — tested her sessions at a Boca Raton retirement community and plans to have a new curriculum ready in August. Her efforts are one of the few but growing number nationwide tackling senior bullying, a topic experts say is a real problem that often gets swept under the rug.
